Fred Steiner
“Suite” from the episode “The Corbomite Maneuver”
Star Trek (1966)
Fred Steiner, a composer for television and movie scores who was perhaps most famous for his theme to the show Perry Mason, passed away last week at the age of 88. Steiner, who wrote primarily for TV, was nominated for an Oscar in 1985 for his contributions to the score for The Color Purple; he was also a founder and board member of the Film Music Society.
Rest in peace.
